Who Is a Candidate For Dental Implants?

Dental Implant Procedures
The implant process begins with a comprehensive consultation at our dental office. During this initial visit, your oral health status will be assessed, and a personalized treatment plan will be developed. If bone grafting is required, this separate procedure will be performed before implant placement.

Titanium screws, serving as artificial tooth roots, will be carefully placed into the bone at precise locations. The gum tissue will be sutured closed, and a healing period will commence. "I came to see Dr. Anderson because I had two teeth that had been given root canals that had crowns on them. Yeah, I was a little nervous; I initially came in just for a consultation. He actually said, "You know, everything looks great, and if you're interested, we can do that implant for you today." The procedure was very simple; I've had three or four root canals, and that was actually much easier and less painful than the root canal, so it was good. Oh, the staff here is great; everybody has been very helpful, from scheduling my meetings to explaining what's going to be done and how it's going to happen, and what needs to take place, and what the costs are. You're certainly informed by the time you make a decision. Dr. Anderson's an interesting guy; he's very friendly, got a lot of personality. If you have to have a procedure like this done, and you need an implant or a tooth replaced, I think that Dr. Anderson and his staff do a great job, and I would recommend them, yes."
"I'd lost a couple of teeth and wanted to have the implants because there's not really other solutions dental-wise for these issues. They make you feel so comfortable here, everybody is really nice, and then everybody answers every question. One of the things—and my husband mentioned this too—about Dr. Anderson is his ability to explain more complicated procedures to you and to answer any question you have. He's with you; you almost feel like there's nothing else in that room when he's talking to you. He can put you at ease so quickly. Well, after I'd had the first part of my implant, my mom needed a tooth extraction; we had her come here—she's 86 years old. And then, just a couple weeks ago, our 10-day-old baby grandson wasn't nursing correctly and a lactation specialist said he needed a laser surgery to loosen some of the muscles here, and we brought him to Dr. Anderson near South Bend. So, the oldest member of my family and the youngest member of my family—plus myself—have all had spectacular surgery results with the team here at Granger Oral Surgery."
